The Amazonas State Court (TJAM) covers the 62 Amazonas municipalities across a continental territory — some interior comarcas are only accessible by river. Strong activity in environmental, indigenous, corporate (Manaus Free Trade Zone) and consumer law. Uses the ESAJ system for 1st and 2nd instance.

TJAM at a glance

  • Around 600 thousand active cases
  • 62 municipalities covered — many accessible only by river
  • ESAJ system for 1st and 2nd instance
  • Around 160 active judges
  • Concentration in Manaus (capital) and Free Trade Zone
  • Specialization in environmental and indigenous law

TJAM lawsuit search by CPF

To search TJAM cases by CPF, access ESAJ at esaj.tjam.jus.br/cpopg/open.do (1st instance) or /cposg/open.do (2nd instance). Select "Consulta por Documento (CPF/CNPJ)", enter the CPF formatted as NNN.NNN.NNN-NN and solve the CAPTCHA. The system returns cases in all 62 Amazonas comarcas (Manaus, Parintins, Itacoatiara, Manacapuru, Coari) — including river-only access comarcas. Companies in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM) typically have high case volume in corporate and state tax matters. For volume, the Vigilant API queries TJAM in one call and returns structured JSON in ~60s.

Local quirks & calendar

TJAM suspends deadlines on Amazonas state holidays: September 5 (elevation to province) and September 8 (Our Lady of Conception, Amazonas patron saint). Standard forensic recess. Service in river-based comarcas may have extended deadlines through specific orders due to river-logistics challenges.
